Troop 35 offers two Religious Programs to our Scouts: “Ad Altare Dei” and “Pope Pius XII”
Ad Altare Dei: The purpose of the Ad Altare Dei ( to the altar of God) program is to help Catholic Youth of the Roman Rite develop a fully Christian way of life in the faith community. The program is organized in chapters based on the seven sacraments. The seven Sacraments are a primary means toward spiritual growth.
Pope Pius XII: Pope Pius XII is Catholic Scouting's church-related ministries and vocation program.
The program deals with different life choices (single, married, religious, ordained), occupations and ministries in the church as calls from God. This course includes youth-led discussions on current issues facing the church and society, which are normally included as part of a Pius XII retreat or day of recollection.
At completion of the course, the Scout will receive a religious medal that would be pinned to the Scout’s Uniform and to be worn during special occasions such as a “Court of Awards” - or, even while attending Catholic Mass in uniform.
Each Course costs $20 to pay for the book and the award.
Religious Medals Program classes will be held in the Fall of 2021 at St. Paul's Catholic Church on 241 South Main St. in North Canton.
Classes begin on Wed. 10/13/2021 at 6:30pm and last until 8:00pm.
